We are proud to announce that our site has been selected by Eli Lilly to be one of ~15 sites in the nation for a large, 10,000 patient clinical trial to assess the efficacy of a brand new GLP1 medication that is an advanced version of Mounjaro and Zepbound.  It is designed not only to aid weight loss but to hopefully reduce to risk of heart attacks, strokes and kidney disease. This trial requires participants to meet certain criteria so please let us know if you are interested in being evaluated.  Family members or friends are also free to call us to see if they qualify.  Participants will be randomized to receive the new GLP 1 medication or placebo and will be paid for their time and help in this very important trial.

We are also currently running 2 other trials including an exciting study evaluating a brand new blood pressure medication that would only require an injection once every 6 months!  Amazing.

COVID has truly upended the medical world — but not at our offices at North Coast Cardiology. Many of our new and returning patients tell us how grateful they are to be able to be seen in our office within the week!  Most offices require 6-8 week wait for a cardiology consultation.  Our staff is working hard to accommodate new patients in a moment’s notice.

SPRING 2021 UPDATE from the office of DR LUDINGTON

We are facing an unprecedented time in our lives with the Coronavirus pandemic upon us as I write this.  As a physician who trained at Stanford University and spent 4 years in San Francisco at UCSF during the height of the AIDS epidemic, COVID19 has turned out to be at least as much of a challenge for myself, my colleagues, my family and my patients as those days in the early 1990s.  2020 has tested all of our patience, strength and perseverance.

We are excited to announce that North Coast Cardiology is the FIRST private clinic in Southern California to receive vaccines directly to our office for your highest risk patients.  Please contact us if you would like to be in the “first wave” of the vaccination program.  You will not need to be in 1000 car lines at Petco! We are thrilled to have this opportunity through the hard work of Dr Ludington and Dr Tariq in obtaining batches of the vaccine from both Pfizer and Moderna.
